Rant Of The Week: Love Always Calls Within Airport Walls

Recently, within the space of a week, I went to the airport twice. Once to drop off my dad, and once to collect him again. I knew what our story was, he was going to England to see family we have over there, but on that second trip while sipping on a latte eagerly awaiting his arrival home I got to thinking about everybody else that was there. The place was buzzing with the sound of coffee machines, suitcases being dragged, phones ringing, babies crying - a whole world of hustle and bustle. Everybody in one place for now, but about to disperse across the world within a matter of hours or even minutes.

I couldn't help but wonder where they were all going. I noticed one woman looking quite frantic walking up and down, back and forth, and 40 minutes later she was still there. Constantly checking the arrivals board. Who was she waiting for? Her daughter? Husband? Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Mother? And why did she look so nervous? It then hit me how many different problems and lives there are in the world and mine seemed insignificant in comparison. Of course, she may have just been excited for the arrival home of a family member after a holiday, but then again she also may not have seen this person in months, years, or ever.

Just think about the wait for your suitcase when you get off the plane... it always seems like your belongings take forever to arrive, doesn't it? This is because there seems to be so many suitcases going around in a loop that you get bored of waiting, but in reality, inside of that plain, or in my (suit) case polka dot exterior, there are even more worlds to explore. Gifts from other countries, other cultures, photos of people near, far and missed. In those suitcases there are pieces of people we've never even met, but some of these people we may cross paths with at some point in the future. However, this is completely unknown to us now at home in our security bubble. Will we meet them on the road we already live on? Walking beside the Great Wall of China? On top of the Empire State Building? In a little cafe in Paris?

Ordering my latte with my mum and brother, the man serving us seemed down - was he just bored? Upset? Feeling sick? I then walked into a shop and was served by a man who had a huge smile on his face the both times I went in there on my first and second airport visit. I just presumed he was in a great mood, but was he just masking his feelings with a smile while the man in the cafe was masking his happiness with a lack of facial expression? The woman with her little girl in the bathroom, were they also waiting for the dad of the house to come home? Or was it just the two of them?

I realised we don't really know anyone or half of what is going on in the world because we're all so absorbed with our own lives. I then binned my latte cup and as I began to leave the airport after a hug from my dad, more masses of people coming and going passed me by, but within all of that I took one last glance at the frantic woman, she was still waiting and I just hope she found happiness in whatever she was waiting for.

2. Ever been in love?
Yes, I have.

4. How tall are you?
I am 5ft 4 and probably not gonna grow anymore!

5. How much do you weigh?
I actually can't answer that because I've been too afraid to weigh myself after Christmas so I can't let you know right now because I don't want to know...

6. Any tattoos?
No, I do not have any.

7: Any piercings?
I have my ears, just once on each side, and my nose.

11: Something you miss?
Ummm, maybe when me and my brother and sister were little we used to play games. Well I used to go on the trampoline with my iPod but then I ended up in hospital because I fell so I don't know but probably not there anymore...

21: How long does it take you to shower?
Depends how much thinking about life I have to do and if I have to shave my legs which is always annoying!

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Ummm probably won't take as long now that I have short hair because I used to have to do a messy bun which took like 40 minutes!

23: Ever been in a physical fight?
No because I think I would die, so let's hope that does not happen anytime soon!

Has to be when a guy says: 'Do you want me to watch Titanic with you or a Disney movie?' because that is the way to win my heart!

Getting My Mojo Back!

Hi guys!
So I don't know if you all saw my most recent selfie on all my social media accounts, but I have had a VERY dramatic change :)

Snapchat: fenellafoxy

Anyone who knows me knows I always change my hair as my life changes so I decided I needed something new, especially for the year ahead! I love experimenting with my hair and it always makes me feel great and confident when I get it done. I spent so long growing it out, but as usual, when it got long I realised I found it too boring. I love adding loads of volume to my hair and really giving it an edge which is why I used to love having it short. Despite what some people think, you can do LOADS with short hair! When I had it long it always went too frizzy so I just ended up throwing it up in a bun a lot.

After a few days of pondering, I decided to take the plunge and chop it all off! I didn't realise how long it was until I was just about to cut it, but once my mind is made up that's it. My mum is a hairdresser so she chopped it all off for me into a bob and I immediately fell in love with it! No more horrible split ends and wisps, I really have given my hair some life again especially since I have quite coarse hair anyway.

I have cut my hair loads of times so I never get upset and full of regret afterwards! Haha I then decided to put some teal on the ends again (hmmm I wonder which Kardashian-Jenner sister is my fave?) so had to bleach it up to get rid of the dark colour. It wasn't too difficult to bring up light enough to dye teal because it was no longer the dead, stained hair that my mum was working with. She used the Rusk colour below because it comes up vibrant and stays in really well. We also put some brown on the roots just to give the colour a boost.

In my opinion, bobs are always in fashion and suit so many people. I love how mine frames my face but also distracts from my chin. I have a very heart-shaped face so sometimes I felt having my hair long dragged it out and made my chin look longer. Bobs can be sleek and classy but look edgy too which I love. You can have it with choppy short layers, longer layers, no fringe or different fringes, and they all look fab. My parting can be moved around and I kept the layers long but a bit shorter at the front.

We all know celebs have been loving short hair (lob/bob) the past year or so and I don't think this is going to go out of fashion anytime soon because it's a timeless look. If you're thinking of cutting your hair you should definitely go for it, I can't wait to funk mine up with gel, plumping powder and quirky accessories! I'm also excited to get that styled volume back and flick out the ends. At the end of the day, you can always grow it again :) So happy to have the old me back! Oh hair mojo, I've missed you!

My Top 12 Empowering Songs

There is no better feeling than being completely empowered. However, we all know that sometimes life can get us down and we feel like this current problem we are facing is the end of the world. When I feel like this, the only thing that can truly lift me out of the mood is writing and music. I love turning the volume up really high and for some reason, I just start to feel better again. In particular, when you feel heartbroken, it can be tempting to just dwell on the good times alone while listening to depressing love songs, but that gets us nowhere apart from forgetting all the reasons things didn't work out to begin with! If you're feeling like this today and are all down in the dumps doing nothing, I have put together some of the songs I blast when I'm upset, angry or confused about a situation.

1. Let It Go by Idina Menzel
If you only listen to the Demi Lovato version you're doing it all wrong... you need to listen to the real Frozen version as loud as you can!

2. Not Me, Not I by Delta Goodrem
A really nice song, but also reminds you that you are worth more than crying your eyes out in bed over him. "Did you think that every time I see you I would cry? No not me, not I."

3. Fight Song by Rachel Platten
This one is great for taking back control of your life and emotions!

4. Ugly Heart by G.R.L
The boy may be a model but lets face it, we all know you can do better...

5. A Little Time by The Beautiful South
This song got me through a break-up because my mum made me listen to it over and over again and it helped, A LOT.

6. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
Haters gonna hate, hate, hate...

7. I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift
Perfect for releasing a build up of anger when you might be getting hurt by someone!

8. Best Thing I Never Had by Beyonce
Because ladies, we are all Beyonce!

9. All About Tonight by Pixie Lott
"I bought a new pair of shoes, I got a new attitude when I walk"

10. Domino by Jessie J
I just love this song and hearing it makes me happy, soz...

11. Turning Tables by Adele
The only Adele song that doesn't move me to tears...

12. Clean by Taylor Swift
My 2015 girl power song because as time moves on, things get better. Taylor spoke about getting over a break-up and said "You replace these old habits with new habits, like texting your friends in a group chat all day and planning fun dinner parties and going out on adventures with your girlfriends, and then all of a sudden one day you're in London and you realize you've been in the same place as your ex for two weeks and you're fine. And you hope he's fine." and she's right, I had one of these moments recently, you realise time has healed you.

No matter how horrible things may seem at first, life goes on! Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together :) Don't dwell on sadness, absorb these lyrics and take back control of your life :) I'm in a great place lately and I think a lot of it is to do with these songs that kept me going, so I hope this helps!

Rant Of The Week: It's Raining Men

A few moments ago I was sitting here with a serious case of writer's block, that was until I saw that two very unlikely men had a very unlikely reunion. Those men were Carrie Bradshaw's ex-boyfriend, Aidan, and her husband, Mr. Big. If you don't watch Sex and the City, you should be aware that these were the two main men battling it out for Sarah Jessica Parker's on-screen heart, and Big won in the end. Obviously, in real life they probably get along fine and had a great time when they saw each other, however, I got to thinking... what would happen if we threw every guy we've ever liked in a room together? Would they get along? Would they be at ease? Would you be comfortable with it?

It made me realise that I really don't have a type. The air would be dangerously filled with football and rugby balls flying around the place, with a guitar playing in the background and someone wearing a dodgy tracksuit. There would be haunting echoes of the words 'I love you', 'I don't want a girlfriend' and sadly and embarrassingly 'D'ya wanna shift now?' They may be completely at ease, but I most definitely would not be. One side of the room would stink of real heartbreak and pain and the other of 13-year-old humiliation and regret - all joined together by Lynx Africa, no doubt. Now imagine all of this with little old me in the middle - Very very single, but definitely refusing to mingle.

Is there ever a continuous theme with our love interests, apart from, in my case, dark hair and bad luck? Does your first kiss mirror your first love? Your first boyfriend your last? No, no, no, no. Please people, lets keep them all in different rooms, counties, continents, planets. We don't want them swapping stories, especially the cringe-worthy ones from 2010 that you're still denying...

It's no wonder SJP herself chose to skip the occasion!

I Don't Know About You, But At Least I'm Not 22

I always remember when I used to play games with my sister when we were little and we always used to say "Oh I'm 18" because we thought it was such a cool age and so grown up. I am now sitting here in my bunny dressing gown while eating a Frozen candy cane after turning 20 yesterday and realising how wrong I was. 18 year-old-me is now long gone and I feel I appreciated her more when I was six rather than when I actually was 18. Where did the years go? Can they please slow down slightly? I'm not mature enough or emotionally prepared for this whole ageing process...

Anyway, I had such a lovely day with my family and got fab presents, a few of which are pictured below! When I have my new phone up and running I will update you on more bits and pieces I got for Christmas and my birthday :) Snapchat: fenellafoxy

To be honest, the day before my birthday I was dreading turning 20, but now that the fear is done and dusted I am SO excited to see what adventures will await me in my twenties! I can't wait to learn to drive and there are loads of places in the world I'm dying to see. Paris is the top of my list and always has been, but I also want to go to London and New York. Can you believe I'm from England but have never been to London? So close to home but definitely on the bucket list! Who knows what is on the horizon for 2016 :) What have you guys been up to? Any birthdays coming up or exciting plans for 2016?:)

Now that we have started a brand new year, if you have any questions or blog post requests please don't hesitate to get in touch, I would love to hear from you and hear your feedback :) Also, don't forget about the giveaway I'm doing, check out my Facebook or Instagram to see how you can be in with a chance of winning my pamper hamper :) I'm also aiming to hit 1,000 followers on Instagram soon so I would love your help! Fingers crossed :)

Rant Of The Week: A Cinderella Story

Well guys, I have to admit, I almost had a Cinderella moment on New Years Eve. And no, I don't mean I was transformed into a beautiful princess or a prince came and searched every household in the middle of nowhere for me, I just mean I was about to leg it out the door before the clock hit midnight. Glass slipper left behind or not, if the two guys behind me on the dance floor got any closer that was about to turn into one messed up fairytale - 'Man found purposely squashed by pumpkin carriage due to Cinderella no longer needing a man to save her.' Excuse me Mr, please back up. We may be about to say goodbye to 2015 but that doesn't mean I've left my sense or list of potential men I already have lined up behind as well. Although I really should rethink the decision about the potential men... New Years Resolution number one: He is potential, but not essential.

Why is there the tradition to kiss someone on New Years? What if I don't want to ring in the New Year with a complete stranger? What if I'm one of those girls who likes saving her kisses for someone special even if they are only kisses? Am I a dying breed of girl kind? In my family we just bang saucepans together outside and start singing, why can't we do that in clubs and at parties too? Anyway, as the countdown began I was sandwiched between my horrendous romantic choices of 2015, and the men lurking to be the start of that again in 2016. As it hit 12 I ended up kissing my best friend (my own fairy godmother, many a makeover has she transformed me with in the past) on the cheek while there were numerous games of tonsil tennis being played around us - Some quite cute, some quite drunken, and some quite memorable for all the wrong reasons. I then went and did a shot of tequila, thought about life for a bit and then danced to Single Ladies.

I am now sitting here with the flu (and I didn't even kiss anyone, bloody hell!) and smiling about what an amazing night I had anyway. Lets face it, what makes Cinderella a classic - the magic, the fashion or the man? Yep, talk to you later Prince Charming because 2016 is all about creating my own fairytale!

Here's to a healthy, happy 2016! With more of this positive change...

And hopefully less of this...

"No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true."

Happy New Year everybody! Xx
