Rant Of The Week: Cabin Fever

Okay, I'm all for the occasional quiet weekend in, but there are only so many times that I can watch The Notebook and only so much microwave popcorn a girl can eat. Anybody who knows me knows that I live for my nights out (yes that's sad, but yes I'm a saddo and I regret nothing.) Not only do I get a thrill out of my winged eyeliner being on point, but I love that feeling of communicating with people apart from my parents, my brother and my dog. I would say my nan but sometimes she chats to herself so I dunno if that really counts as communicating with me. I think the worst part about being stuck at home is the fact that I don't even live in a town, I'm a countryside girl and can't drive.

I don't really know why I haven't been out in ages (okay like a week) but it could be because my mum says things like "Awww I love spending time with you, lets watch a movie and have a girly night." so I'm guilted into it, but boom as soon as the house settles down and it hits 11pm she says "Right turn off all the lights please, I'm off to bed." Mother, off to bed? I wouldn't even be out yet? Everyones Snapchat stories are only going up now? How do you expect me to kill the going out blues all by myself for 3 and a half hours? What happened to this movie and mother-daughter bonding time?

Being the only one awake in the house then usually leads to unnecessary Facebook creeping of hot people (and surprisingly no, I don't mean my own profile) and even blue-er blues. Must not check Snapchat, must not check Snapchat, must not check Sna- I BLOODY KNEW HE WOULD BE OUT. Why must the men we love put up Snapchat stories of them out when we're not there? Ummm sorry mister but where did that smile come from? What do you have to be smiling about? You thinking about me? You put that on your story by accident instead of sending it to me? You picturing our future together? Oh, wait, could have something to do with the fact that there is a Kendall Jenner lookalike standing beside you. Ori. So this is fine...

Seriously though, do these things happen to anyone else? Why can't our house be full of Kopparberg and McDonald's chicken nuggets?

However, it is not all doom and gloom because luckily, as Sunday arrives the Universe randomly decides to be in my favour. The majority of you are hungover and broke while I'm chilling with my health and (somewhat) wealth. Relaxing in bed and loving life, until... must not check Instagram, must not check Instagram, must not check Insta- DAMMIT.

Yeah, I need to find my previous party animal ways ASAP...

Debs Hairstyle Inspiration

As promised, with the help of my mum, I have done a blog post for any of you who may be going to a debs this year and are unsure what to do with your hair. This is always a difficult decision, and of course it depends on the person and the style of your dress. Here are a few ideas I love, and all of them started by putting my hair in heated rollers to create a soft curl. Anyone wanna bring me to a debs this year, nah?

1. This first style is a personal favourite of mine. Pinned up and brought to the side.I think if you were wearing a dress with one shoulder it would be lovely to add something to the bare shoulder. This would also be lovely if you have longer hair than mine because it would just fall gently and elegantly.

2. This hairstyle is just a messy side bun. Lovely if you want a soft, subtle look. I chose to place a flower in it to add a burst of colour.

3. I know many people love a plaited look for the debs, and I personally think plaits always look gorgeous in an upstyle. The end of the plait was then brought around and pinned. I chose to have all of it up, but of course some pieces down at the front would also look lovely. A very classy look.

.

4. I think the look below is so cute because it reminds me of a ballerina. Again, I chose a plait to add something to the front and added some simple clips. The height and size of the bun can vary greatly, but I love height.

5. I think this is more of a fun and playful look, and might not be for everybody. This is the result of my hair being left down after being left in heated rollers. The curl is really soft, and I just think it looks really pretty. Again, you could also do this if you have long hair.

My previous choices...
Just incase you were wondering what hairstyles I chose for the debs, it really changed depending on the dress and whole look that I was going for. However, looking back now, my favourite was the hairstyle that I had for my own debs, this is the first picture below. Some parts were pinned, and others just falling, with height on top (everybody knows I love volume!). It was soft and I think complimented my baby pink dress very well.

I hope this helped and you now have some ideas if you were getting into a bit of a panic about it before. You will all look lovely anyway no matter what look you decide to go for. Have a great night, and don't forget to take loads of photos (you know, you might start a blog later and decide to do a debs hairstyles post). It's one night where you really get to take advantage of the Disney Princess dream, so it doesn't get any better than that!

Spotlight Stories: Can't Be Dealing With The Zayn Pain Anymore

As if Zayn Malik hadn't broken enough hearts already, he's hit the headlines again after ending his engagement to Little Mix's Perrie Edwards. A source told People magazine: "She's been putting on a brave face as Little Mix have had promotion to do, but she's obviously devastated."

Obviously I have no idea what went wrong between the two, but there is nothing worse than a broken heart so I hope poor Perrie is coping okay if she didn't want it to end. It is unclear when the two split for sure but apparently it was around two weeks ago. She had previously sparked speculation as she was spotted without her engagement ring.

It is all very bizarre though with Zayn leaving One Direction earlier this year and the rumours going around that he cheated on Perrie. Did the pressure just become too much?

I have to say I really am surprised about this, especially since they seem so loved up on Instagram. I guess you just never know what's going on behind closed doors. It was only last month that Zayn brought her away for a romantic birthday break.

I have to say though her girls seemed to be a great support as one of her bandmates shared the snap below of Perrie to her Instagram account. Perrie is looking super gorgeous as usual and the girls no doubt wanted to show Zayn what he's missing.

In other news, Louis has confirmed his excitement about becoming a father. There's just too much drama going on with those guys lately...

Rant Of The Week: That Sunday Feeling

I find it very funny how Sunday can be the best and worst day of the week. It starts off as great when you're lying in bed drinking tea, sprawled out thinking about life and how sunny it is, imagining the roast dinner that lies ahead, but then BOOM! After dinner, when you're completely stuffed with roast potatoes and apple pie the bad feeling starts to set in. Did I REALLY need to eat that fourth slice of apple pie? Did I really need extra cream? Do I really have to face tomorrow?

Poor old Monday always has a hard time and is disliked by everybody. Really though, is it Mondays fault or do we all just need to change our attitudes? Why does everyone put so much pressure on Monday? Why is homework always due Monday and why do we choose Monday as they day we are suddenly going to have willpower and stick to our diets? If we continue to waste all of our Sundays worrying about Monday, we will never have fond Sunday memories and realistically we are all losing a day of the week because they both merge into one big Monday.

I think we all need to stop using Sunday as the build up to Monday and treat it as we do Saturday (just perhaps with less alcohol and dodgy tan lines). Live in the present and not in the future because that Monday might not ever come and you've wasted your last chance to make your life spectacular.

However, if Monday does come, which I can assure you it probably will, just remember that your glass is half full (just unfortunately, it's not with vodka!)

Happy Sunday lovelies! X

8 Random Things You Will Find In Every Girls Bedroom

Welcome to my bedroom: Enter at your own risk.

1. The chair
Ohhhhh there's my crop top that went missing three years ago. Dad, is that you? We all thought you went working abroad in 2009?

2. The drawer
There could be absolutely anything in here, ranging from cute polka dot Penneys hairbands to that boy that refused to go on a date with you...

3. A tub of sudocrem for your spots and random tampon for, well, you know
These usually get shoved in the drawer (see point 2) if any of your male friends come to visit.

4. 13 random mugs and 8 plates
"No mum I haven't seen the cheese grat- Oh wait, never mind here is it"

5. A charger with no purpose
You aren't for my phone or camera so where did you come from?

6. A corner dedicated to your friends
A small (7 foot high) pile of things your friends left here while they were getting ready to go out. You have all their clothes but none of your own because they're either at their houses or on the chair. "Ew have those fake eyelashes been used?"

7. At least 8 pairs of shoes that you never wear
Your communion shoes, ugly pumps from when you were in first year or just a pair from Kendall and Kylie's new collection that you know you will die if you wear so you just bought them to look at.

8. A pair of knickers thrown on the floor
Remember when you were in primary school and used to say "one sec let me tidy my room before you come in" to your friends? Well, does anyone else still do that or is that just me?

W7 Catwalk Face Shaper Review

This month I bought myself the W7 Catwalk Face Shaper in Morrison's Pharmacy, Cahir for only €6.99. (They also have SoSu nail varnishes, need to get myself a few of those soon!)

I'm naturally very pale anyway so was wondering whether I could get away with the face shaper on a daily basis with my everyday foundation. I use No7 Stay Perfect foundation in Calico because it is so natural.

Usually when I go out at night I do contour anyway, but I tend to do that when I'm completely tanned up. One day my mum told me my face looked a completely different shape (them Kim K skills I'm telling ya!) but anyway, I don't want that on a normal day, I just bought the face shaper because it promises that it "shapes and defines your face like a catwalk model."

Fresh faced and make-up free!

I tried it out and I really love this product. It is so affordable and perfect for any girl that loves a natural everyday make-up look. The brush included is great and the product is small enough to carry around in your handbag. I used my No7 contour and highlighting brush to blend the highlighter and shade. It goes through every step on the back of the box so you know exactly how and where to apply everything.

Being fab as usual...

For me it turned out so natural because I used a subtle base foundation which I love, but I am also going to try it out on top of a darker shade.

The end result without eye make-up or lipstick. A nice natural finish.

Overall, for me, this is a make-up must have!
