Back in January I posted about joining Slimming World, so I thought I would give you all a quick update on how it’s going. I am about 7 weeks in now and feeling great. I am very close to losing a stone which I think is crazyyyy. So glad I made the decision to start now, or I’d still be where I was, complaining about needing to make changes.
I have to say, I haven’t felt overly deprived or gone really off the rails since starting. I’ve had a few days away, the odd meal out and the occasional going over my syns, but nothing that has made me want to give up. Even when I go off plan, I feel motivated knowing I’m making better choices than I used to. What I love about Slimming World is how you can still enjoy foods you love, it’s just eating them in moderation and making better choices when faced with lots of temptation.
I have had losses every week since starting, apart from maintaining two weeks ago. I had been away in England though, so I think that might have caught up with me. I also think sometimes you have to allow for changes in your own body – bloating, time of the month etc, that’s just the human body! As David says at group: “There’s no shame in a gain” so even if you do ever have a gain, it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, it can be undone and you just have to keep going. The main thing is staying motivated and believing in yourself.
I can already feel huge changes on the inside and the outside, so I’m excited to see where this journey will take me. I’m also much better at cooking since being inspired to make interesting dishes, woohoo! Instagram is a great place for food inspiration.
