Back To My Roots

Hi everyone! So I know I haven’t written a post like this in a while because my poems and posts about Frankie took over, but I don’t want you to think I have forgotten about those of you who love coming to my platforms for the good old blog posts where it all started, so here we are. I was trying to think of something to write about for a good few days. On a recent car journey, I told my mum “I need to go back to my roots, back to where it all started!” so she told me to call it exactly that. So here we go, back to my roots with an older style blog post!

If there is anything I have learned in my 22nd year on this earth, it is that things are chopping and changing all the time. I find that thought so exciting now, not knowing what adventures are waiting for me around the corner. Here are a few things that have hit home for me recently, so I just said I’d share them 🙂

Nothing is permanent
I have said it before and I will say it again… absolutely everything happens for a reason! Honestly, even when things get turned upside down, there is a reason for it even if you don’t know what it is yet. I think the universe sends us situations and people at the perfect time. When I think back to this time last year, and even before Christmas, I actually find it funny how different my entire life was. You might remember me writing a post about how down I was feeling, and I really was! I remember feeling quite stuck, in many aspects really. I felt unmotivated, a little lost, I kept falling back into habits that I knew weren’t getting me anywhere and I ended up putting on weight which made me feel worse. Fast forward a few months, my entire mindset is different. You cannot see the future, but the future can see you and has better things planned, trust me!

Your health really is your wealth
Earlier this year, we all got a major fright when my nan got ill. She is doing much better now but it was one of those moments that shook everyone up, yet brought us all together at the same time. Look after yourself, laugh a lot and don’t miss opportunities to tell people what they mean to you. Physical or mental, if something doesn’t feel right then don’t carry the weight of it alone. Share the looooove, people!

Just go for it
I always remember talking to my sister about a situation and her saying to me “You can either not go for it because you’re scared of the risk and never know what could have been, or you can just take the chance because it could mean something amazing happening… and if not, oh well!” Life has a funny way of sending you random situations and people when you might not even realise how much you need them. When it comes to situations, just say yes and panic later, and when it comes to people, whether it’s friendship or romance, a simple hello can become a big part of your life. Don’t keep painting the new with old brushes. If it’s meant to be yours, it will be. Just breathe and go with the flow because a single moment could change everything.

Trust YOUR gut
People and situations serve everybody differently. If you see flowers don’t let anybody else convince you that they’re weeds. Flowers will grow if you water them. Other people’s opinions won’t live in your mind forever but you have to live with your own. Love who you want and do what makes you happy. I read something recently that said gut feelings are guardian angels, and I really couldn’t agree with that more. Oh and remember – not everybody is going to love or support your work, but the right ones will! You are amazing, do you hear me?? AMAZINGGGG. Just live your best life hun.

Your story is yours to tell
Don’t ever be afraid to speak about how you feel. Your words and experiences could be just the thing someone else needs to hear right now. My most passionate work comes from situations I’ve lived through and I think if they’ve made me feel then I have the right to write about them. Own your stories, they can never be belittled in comparison to others because they are built from different souls and different energies. People who are on the same page would love to see the perspective from the other side, and if this side offers light when all they can see is shadow, well then it’s even better!

Chill out mate
Okay I admit, Mamma Mia inspired this one! Even though I am tempted, chances are I probably won’t end up moving to a Greek Island alone to find Bill, but having fun is just so so important for your mental health and overall wellbeing. Lately I just want to have fun – I want to visit random places, do random things and just take it all in. If you’re feeling trapped or stuck, get out. Don’t take life too seriously, as my mum says: we’re all just passing through!

The jigsaw will eventually put itself together
And what jigsaw doesn’t have missing pieces, right? Life wouldn’t have value if it was meant to be figured out all at once. Everything will eventually fall into place, I think you need to trust the power of timing and collect different pieces in different places. If your story isn’t keeping you on your toes, then what are you writing it for?

Hope you enjoyed this post, I know it’s been a while but it’s good to be back. If you have any requests feel free to send them on 🙂 Oh and incase any of you have forgotten what I look like, here is a pic of me living my best tea-filled life!

Much love,

Fe xx
